The first 12 months

Trainees will be required to complete the 10 week Custodial Officers Entry Program (COEP), and pass written and physical assessments.

Upon completion of the COEP, new officers are required to complete the Certificate III in Correctional Practice.

New officers are appointed for a probationary period of not less than 3 months.

All QCS staff are required to act within the principles of the Code of Conduct.
