Conditions of entry and employment

Citizenship Requirements: A person is eligible to be a public service officer only if the person:

  • is an Australian citizen; or
  • resides in Australia, and has permission under a Commonwealth law, to
    • work in Australia; and
    • remain in Australia indefinitely.

Proof of Identity: Candidates must provide proof of identity, with a certified copy of a current passport, birth certificate, drivers licence, or immigration documentation.

Medical Assessment: Applicants who progress to a certain stage of the recruitment process will be required to undergo a medical assessment.

Criminal History Check: QCS will arrange for a criminal history check through the Queensland Police Service in the later stages of the selection process. If you have lived overseas for an extended period, you may be required to supply a relevant criminal history check.

Drivers Licence: All applicants are required to hold a current C Class Queensland Drivers Licence.

Apply First Aid: All applicants are required to hold a current AFA certificate.
