Locating a prisoner

The prisoner inquiries phone line was established to enable members of the public (including friends and families), Centrelink, solicitors and various stakeholders to determine whether someone is currently in QCS custody. If the person is in custody, staff will advise the location of the person and the correctional centre contact details. However, if the person is reporting to a probation & parole office, we are not able to provide specific details (i.e. District office location). This phone line has designated business hours from 10.00am to 12.00pm and 1.00pm to 4.00pm weekdays.

An email address PrisonerLocations@dcs.qld.gov.au has been established to receive requests from interested parties as to the current status and/or location of offenders, a phone line has also been set up for the same purposes which can be contacted on (07) 3227 6055.

We collect your personal information (e.g. email address details) to address your matter and will only disclose it to third parties if authorised by law or with your consent. To find out further information, please refer to our [Privacy Statement].
