As a socially responsible organisation, Queensland Corrective Services aims to reduce its operational impact on the environment. All employees have a role to play in reducing our carbon footprint by adopting a range of individual and collective strategies to change the way we work and conserve water, energy and minimise waste.

Green Corrections isn't just about staff. We also have a social responsibility to promote green initiatives amongst the prisoners and offenders under our supervision in the community. We will achieve this by delivering on four key areas:

• Reducing our carbon emissions;
• Employing green prison industry;
• Delivering green vocational education and training; and
• Increasing green community service projects.
